Lug Tipper
GP Graders have re-invented the lug tipper and have thereby revolutionized the cherry industry. Simple, fast, and gentle. The problems of the old-style lug tippers have been eliminated with this brilliant new design from GP Graders.
Full lugs of cherries are loaded in rows of 2, 3 or 4 lugs depending on the width of the receival tank. Lugs are carried forward and clamped tight as they submerge into the receival tank for a gentle, zero impact release in water. Lugs are washed through water before being elevated, then released in unison onto a take away conveyor for re-palletizing the empty lugs.
GP Graders new lug tipper is so simple and unproblematic it will stand as the new benchmark for the cherry industry.
Bin Tipper
GP Graders’ 360˚ electric bin tipper is the best available method on the market for tipping full bins of cherries into a grading line. The 360˚ “paddle wheel” style tipper causes no damage to cherries and is the most productive and safest delivery method of any alternative tipping method in the market today. Our electric bin tipper is a heavy duty unit which is smooth and quiet in its operation, totally reliable and is simple and safe to use.
The 360˚ electric bin tipper has a de-stacking, tipping and re-stacking cycle time of less than 60 seconds, equating to more than 10 ton per hour.
Receival Tanks & Elevators
Our receival tanks are manufactured with heavy gauge, stainless steel, which makes them hygienic and highly durable. Easy drainage is achieved with a sloping floor and is fitted with an access door to facilitate easy cleaning. Finally, the walls of the tank are paneled with thick insulation sheets.
Cherries are transported from the receival tank by the variable speed elevator. The elevator runs along the floor of the tank and inclines at a 45° angle. The plastic conveyor belt has flights to maintain an even distribution of cherries up the elevator and maximize its load capacity.Carefully considered elevation angles, complimented with a soft brush as cherries breach the water level, means no “roll-backs” of fruit.
Cluster Cutter
The Cluster Cutter is our unique singulating conveyor designed to separate bunched cherries and to singulate them by cutting the stalk prior to sizing.
With the aid of flumed water, cherries are conveyed over GP Graders' special grooved belt, which features staggered rows of recessed plastic fingers. These guide the stalk under the high-speed rotating blade of the cluster cutter, which consists of pairs of half blades, bolted to hubs which are carefully located to align with the plastic guide fingers. The blades are constructed from hardened steel, and each tooth has been individually sharpened to ensure a long life and a clean cut. The cherries are fully protected from the saw blades, and do not come to any harm.

Small Fruit Eliminator
The Small Fruit Eliminator (SFE) removes under sized cherries and orchard waste. Undersized cherries and orchard waste falls between the electronically adjustable gap provided by the parallel sizing rollers to waste belts, then are transported to separate collection bins.
Appropriately sized cherries are transferred by water onto the metering belt. Our metering belt ensures an even spread of cherries across the belt in preparation for delivery to the singulators of the AirJet® grader. Importantly, our metering belt gives you an even load across each of the lanes of the AirJet® grader. Cherries are water flooded over highly polished aluminum rollers which have a glass-like finish. Outwardly rotating rollers have a machined step at the midpoint of the roller to separate orchard waste from undersized cherries.
AirJet® Grader
Our AirJet® Cherry Grader is at the forefront of the cherry machinery industry, as GP Graders are innovation and technology leaders. This is evident as GP Graders have been behind almost every innovation in the cherry machinery industry since 1987. The AirJet electronic cherry grader is the most technologically advanced sorting machine available today, and this cutting-edge technology helps you to achieve the best possible returns for your fruit, by dramatically reducing the sorting and packing costs, and providing perfect size grading.
Fast, gentle and accurate, GP Graders’ electronic AirJet® grader sorts cherries at a speed of 30.2 units per second, or 650kg per lane per hour yielding high productivity while maintaining grading accuracy.
Sorting Belts
Our unique and innovative sorting belts are manufactured in pairs to allow for a central belt for reject grade cherries. Roll-over steps are placed along the sorting belts, which overturn cherries to fully expose both sides of the fruit, allowing for a thorough inspection by staff. Belts are made of our blue, non-reflective material.
GP Graders sorting belts are also fitted with a water drainage tray underneath belts to keep flooring dry, and to drain water back to the central water storage system.
Carton Fillers
Electronic carton filling ensures consistent box weight accuracy and faster volume throughput. Electronic carton fillers are positioned at the end of each sorting belt, then cartons sit on a load cell platform where they are filled to a pre-programmed weight setting via an adjustable feed belt, or hopper, controlled by a touch screen LCD monitor. The feed belt stops feeding the carton when it reaches the set weight, and then weights are displayed and programmed on an elevated LCD screen for ease of viewing.
Auto Box Fillers
Our Cherry Auto Box Fillers fully automate the packing process for fresh cherries, packing them into 4.4lb and 11lb boxes, filling them to precise weights. As this completely removes the need for box-packing staff, our technology helps you to significantly cut down on costs.
Automatically fill 4.4lb and 11lb Euro boxes, as well as other boxes with or without Barry-Bag frames. Experience a more profitable season without the requirement for box filling staff.
