We have been very pleased with the performance of the AirJet machine. The backup service received from GP Graders has always been very proactive. The way the machine performs is outstanding, especially for sorting according to size and colour, it can pick up things that the human eye can't see. GP Graders' technology gives us the peace of mind that our cherries reach their final destination in the same condition they leave our plant.
The installation of an AirJet® Grader has rewarded the business with quality feedback from the infamously fussy Coles & Woolies buyers and we're are honestly 'thrilled' with the results delivered by GP Graders.
Our new GP AirJet grader is punching out some serious volume, doing on average 240,000 cherry tomatoes per hour. We’re processing 2 to 3 times the amount of our old sorting machine and we’ve got defect detection pulling out a great deal of bad fruit, helping to reduce labour costs in our pack house. We’re very happy with our investment so far and are very pleased to have partnered with a great Australian business. Huge thanks to the GP team.
We sent our whole team to Australia to evaluate GP Graders’ equipment and everyone came back saying that it was superior. As a consequence, we ended up with best equipment in the industry. GP Graders’ technology has revolutionised the cherry industry - our sizing is perfect; our grading is near perfect and our labour costs have gone down. Their technology has given us the ability to access Asian markets that we originally couldn’t access, especially high-end premium markets.
By using GP Graders’ new grading lines for plums, we were able to extend our packing season by another 4 weeks after the cherry season had wrapped up.
As a result of this investment, we have already witnessed a 60% reduction in labour costs per tray. We can now pack more product, our costs are going down, and we are delivering better quality produce and more volume than ever.
